    Question

with the stock JR setup can I upgrade to H22 injectors and 8psi JR pully and still run safe fuel pressure? I do not want to spend more money on a cartech and haondata and all the other crap. Is it safe to say that 270cc injectors and JR FMU will be safe to run? My reasoning is 15% up on boost and 15% up on fuel is this a good baseline? Thanks Jon B

ClubSI is a interesting place. Jason has done a tremendous job and getting the site up and running and well organized. Most likely it is the largest SI web site today. Only problem is exactly what you pointed out, too many inexperienced people just blurting out recommendations or making fun of the poster for asking questions.

Hostboard in my opinion has a higher caliber of technical support and thus we are lucky enough to have companies and tuner shops poping in from time to time helping out answering questions on their own accord.

Welcome to the site and I am sure no one here will make you feel bad for asking questions. Also you might want to search our the archives of this forum as the information you will find is invaluable and might save you some time.

    Jon B,

Your thinking is good except for one little item: The JR regulator. Remember that if you make 15% more power, and you add 15% more fuel across the board by using a 15% larger injector... you would then be 15% TOO RICH at full boost because you have not reduced the rise rate accordingly. You will still need an adjustable rise-rate regulator like a Cartech or Vortech to reduce the rise rate about 1 psi per pound of boost... to more like 4:1.
If you are not sure of which way to decide, wait a few days for the HONDATA test... if it works as advertised, you would NOT need a Cartech anyway. You will be able to adjust your injector duty cycle by the ECU.

I have a 99 civic SI. My mods are as follows.JRSC at 6lb dc4 to 1 header, apexi N1 cat back, JR BTC, JR map mod, Jr Vpac, JR water inj, J&S safeguard, colder plugs ECT. I think this is pretty much it oh yeah JR FMU. So my question is Running the 96+ 290cc injectors at 8psi a safe option? Also as you had stated before I should replace the JR FMU 5:1 rise rate for a cartech 4:1 rise rate. That said what do I need to get? If I have left out a crutial piece of info let me know thank you. Last thing I forgot I am looking into getting the 8psi crank pulley from Moss Motors. Shawn has told me and reverified that it is the crank pully. Everyone on clubsi told me it was the charger pully. Thanks again for the help!!!!

Is Tony going 8psi?? Sweet man! I am just trying to get the 411 on what all to do so I don't smoke the motor. Iv'e been told that you have a stepper pulley and you saw a night and day difference between 6 and 8psi is this true? Although I heard you were really really lean that sucks. so now on to the quest for more ponies. later Jon B

    Jon,

One more thing: what is the make and model (including year) of your car ???
I ask this because depending on the year, the H22A injectors may be the wrong resistance... in which case you may fry your ECU if you install them as they are.
'92-95 Prelude injectors have low resistor values (1.8 to 2.6 ohm) and will require a resistor box to run safely with your ECU... '96+ injectors will have the greater resistor values (10.8-12.6 ohm) and run fine with a stock ECU... yet they will only plug in to a '96+ Civic or Integra. Also, remember that the '92-96 injectors are 330cc and the '97+ are 290cc.
